Norman and Francis were scared and shaking after being tossed into a cold canal in Louisiana without any thought. It’s awful that people throw away creatures they don’t want in this canal. This is unfortunate since the steep slopes make it almost impossible for them to escape.
The two pit bulls couldn’t move and were praying that someone decent would see them before it was too late.
Someone who cares noticed the fearful dogs and called Zeus’ Rescues right away to get them help.
A Race Against the Water That Is Rising
The rescue team didn’t waste any time. They knew a storm was coming and that the rain would soon fill the canal, which would make things even worse. When they got there, they were heartbroken to see Norman and Francis huddled together, afraid and cold.
The rescuers spoke to them in a soothing manner to get them to trust them. The dogs grumbled at first because they weren’t sure they could trust these folks. But all changed when the squad carefully stepped into the canal. The dogs seemed to know that they were there to aid. Their barking changed from fearful to hopeful, and they wagged their tails.
The rescuers handed the victims chocolate to make them believe them. Francis slowly moved closer because she was hungry, and one of the people who aided her gave her food by hand. That tiny thing gave her the strength to attempt it.
Francis bravely crossed the canal so that the team could get her to safety.
When Norman witnessed his best friend being saved, he was brave enough to go for him. He jumped over the widest part of the canal, and the team pulled him up right away.
Everyone was happy when both pets were finally safe. They put them in the car, wrapped them with blankets, and drove them to the group’s refuge in New Orleans.
Healing and Love
The shelter took care of Norman and Francis and welcomed them with open arms. They weren’t scared anymore as they learned to trust again. They rapidly proved how much they loved and cared for one another. They wanted to snuggle, be outside in the sun, and gain as much attention as they could from other people.
Michelle, one of the people who helped, told The Dodo, “They like to lie in the sun like cats.” “They’re the best angels.”
A New, Bright Chapter
The two puppies were finally ready to come inside. The individuals who saved them decided that they didn’t need to be adopted together, even though they were quite close. They were both confident and friendly, so they could accomplish things well on their own.
Norman was the first person to find a location to reside for the rest of his life. Because he was so lovely, a family took him in right away. On the other hand, Francis is still looking for a family that would love her and provide her with the stability she has always needed.
Zeus’ Rescues acted fast, and other people were nice, so both dogs got a second chance at life. Francis’s journey isn’t over yet, but she finally knows how it feels to be safe and kind. This is the start of a wonderful new life.
